LastBit Software Releases TrafMeter 4.0

Freeware tool for network traffic accounting and monitoring

Your organization is connected to the Internet, but can you ensure that it is 
used appropriately and effectively? Do you want to know who uses your Internet 
connection the most? In fact, experts estimate that over 50% of connected 
companies overpay for bandwidth, because they are afraid that slow traffic will 
hinder their business, while they have no way to calculate the exact amount of 
traffic they need for everyday operations.
 
TrafMeter is a tool for network traffic accounting and monitoring that counts the 
traffic based on a powerful rule engine. The rulesets can be used for single 
hosts, subnets, as well as specific groups of hosts - i.e. all hosts in/not in 
your LAN, specific IP protocols (ICMP,TCP,UDP,OSPF,etc). For example, using 
TrafMeter, you can easily split the traffic of your host into local and Internet 
traffic.

TrafMeter 4.0 is available in two editions (free and commercial). The free 
edition has all the features of the commercial version, but you are allowed to 
use only one traffic filter. Therefore, it is ideally suitable for personal 
usage. The commercial version (single license costs $99) doesn't have the above 
restriction on the number of the traffic filters and can be used in an 
office/corporate network as well as in Internet Service Providers (ISP) for 
accounting or monitoring of any traffic usage.

PRICE:
Freeware edition (allowed to use one traffic filter) for personal usage - free.
Commercial edition (unlimited number of traffic filters) costs $99.
